| Arm Fitting |
| Q.The arms supplied have four holes in them for the screws. My chair has only 3 fixing points? |
| A.The fourth hole does not take a screw and needs to be blanked over by the cover cap. There will be brackets provided to securely fasten the backrest either under the upholstered pads or directly under the seat. |
 |
| Backrest Adjustment |
| Q.Can the backrest be moved away from the seat pad? |
| A.Yes this can be done in several ways depending on the type of chair you have. On some chairs there is a hand wheel that goes through the plate under the chair and screws into the bar that connects the back. This is on a slide bracket and can be adjusted as required. Other chairs have their adjustments on the bracket that directly screws into the under side of the seat. The holes are elongated allowing the plate to be moved backwards or forwards as required. |
 |
| Q.The backrest seems to rock? |
| A.This can be controlled by a hand wheel located at the bottom of the backrest on the mechanism. By tightening this hand wheel you can minise this movement. |
 |
| Backrest height adjustment |
| Q.How do I adjust the back height of the chair? |
| A.There are two main types of back rest adjustment on our chairs. The first is controlled by a hand wheel located at the rear of the chair. To adjust this you need to undo the hand wheel and lift the back section, when it is at the correct height tighten the hand wheel back in... This hand wheel can either be attached directly to the back or situated between the seat and backrest. Other chairs have ratchet backs by lifting the back the ratchet mechanism will click into place and the backrest will be held into position. There are several ratchet points on each back, once the top point is reached the back will go back down to its lowest position. |
 |
| Chair Castors |
| Q.I cannot push the castor in far enough to make it lock into place? |
| A.Spay a small amount of lubricant into the hole and then try and locate the castor |
 |
| Q.The above does not work? |
| A.By placing a small piece of wood between the wheels and tapping with a hammer this will locate the castor. |
 |
| Q.The castors keep falling out when I push them into the holes? |
| A.You will hear a click and feel the castor lock, until this happens the castor is not located securely. |
 |
| Gas Lift |
| Q.Do I need to release the clip at the bottom of the stem to make it work? |
| A.No the clip holds the internal mechanism and does not need to be touched |
 |
| Gas Lift Lever |
| Q.How do I operate the lever to make the chair rise and fall? |
| A.By twisting the handle on the lever upwards. |
 |
| Q.The handle moves in and out what does this do? |
| A.If your chair has one lever only, this will operate the tilt mechanism. By pulling the lever outwards it will release the tilt. By pushing the lever in this will lock the tilt. |
 |
| Screws |
| Q.Why do my screws appear to have a blue spray on them? |
| A.This is a special spray that helps the screw to hold into position once located. It will not lock and the screws can be removed if the chair needs to be dismantled |
 |
| Seat Slide |
| Q.How does the seat slide work? |
| A.There are two types of seat slide adjuster. The first one is controlled by a bar located on the underside of the seat. By pulling this bar forwards and upwards it will release the seat slide mechanism. The other is controlled by a small knob or button on the side of the mechanism by pulling or pushing this button it will release the seat slide. |
 |
| Synchro Mechanism |
| Q.I have several levers on my chair what do they do? |
| A.If your chair has two levers one will operate the gas lift (right hand side). The handle on the left will operate the tilt mechanism. There may also be another lever behind the gas lift this lever will operate the back and will allow you to lock the back into a comfortable position for sitting. |
 |
| Q.The seat seems to tilt upwards at the front? |
| A.This may also be controlled by the lever on the left if your chair has three levers. This adjustment allows the user to independently move the seat into a position where it supports the back of the knee. Allowing the user to sit comfortably.
|
 |
| Tension Control |
| Q.What does the large knob under the seat do? |
| A.It tensions the backrest. The more the tension adjuster is tightened the more pressure is needed to allow the chair to tilt, giving the user more control of how quickly the chair tilts and does not make them feel that the chair is falling backwards. This allows the chair to be set for people of different height and weight. |
 |
| Tilting Mechanism |
| Q.My chair has more than one lever how do I make the chair tilt? |
| A.Twisting the handle on the lever will lock or unlock the tilt. This is usually the lever on the left. |
 |
| Under Seat Mechanism |
| Q.I cannot align the holes on the plate to the holes in the seat? |
| A.Work across the plate corner to corner. Half tighten the screws allowing for minor adjustment if required. If you tighten the screws before all four are located this may cause the problem above. |
